Skötulykt af seðlabankastjóra

Í kvöld suðum við afganginn af skötunni frá í fyrra. Lyktin var sterk og bragðið eftir því, lykt eins og á að vera af kæstri skötu, naumast húsum hæf, enda lokuðum við hurðum og gluggum til þess að gott gott sambýlisfólk fyndi ekki skötulyktina. Gréta fékk sér rauðvínsglas, ég fékk mér kaldan Álaborgarsnaps og danskt öl eins og gömlum danófíl sæmir. 

Meðan við gæddum okkur á skötunni frá því í fyrra, horfðum við á viðtal við nýja bankastjóra Seðlabankans. Af viðtalinu var ekki góð lykt og hún yfirgnæfði skötulyktina. Mörgum þótti vond lykt af gamla seðlabankastjóranum. Lyktin af nýja seðlabankastjóranum var ekki betri.

Engan þarf að undra þótt vond lykt sé af gömlum stjórnmálamönnunum. Gamlir stjórnmálamenn héldu sig vita allt, töldu sér allt heimilt í skjóli stjórnmálahefðar - stjórnmálaíhalds, hvort sem þeir hétu Davíð, Gunnar, Halldór eða Jón. 

Þegar nýr seðlabankastjóri, sem átti að reisa við Ísland í umboði hugmynda um réttlæti, jafnrétti og bræðralag og í umboði VG og Samfylkingar, gerir kröfu um tíföld laun barnakennara er ekki góð lykt af.

Nýr seðlabankastjóri verður að átta sig á því - eins og stjórnmálamenn sem vilja lifa af - að runninn er upp ný öld.  Skítalykt af ofurgreiðslum til töframanna bankakerfis er fyrir bí enda engir töframenn viðskiptalífsins til.
